本種は犬の糞やリター、河川敷や海浜に生息し、マンネンタケにも集まるという。
リターから採集した雌3頭を濾紙を敷いたシャーレに入れ24℃16時間明期で餌に市販の「スズムシの餌」を与えて飼育。
後翅の2型が見られた。卵は4日ほどで孵化、幼虫期は各齢期4日、4日、8日ほど、蛹期は7日ほど、成虫は交尾した雌で86日ほど生きた。
