中国から2新種を記載。本属は中国、日本、ロシア、朝鮮半島から知られる13種となった。13種の簡単な分布図と検索表（引くための図もある）も付いていて有用。日本産は以下の3種。

Machaerotypus ishiharai Kato, 1940; Japan (Honshu)
トビイロツノゼミMachaerotypus sibiricus (Lethierry, 1876); Russia; Korea; Japan; China (Heilongjiang, Beijing, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan)
