土岐君の解説。主に以下の7本の論文の内容を纏めたものだが、とても纏まった良い解説になっている。ニホンホホビロコメツキモドキは竹の節内で酵母を栽培しそれにより成長しているわけだが、その研究のきっかけが「竹の表面を食べるだけで果たして23 mm の虫が出来上がるだろうか」、という虫屋的な疑問である。ここからどう研究が進展していったかは、読んでのお楽しみ。わくわくさせられること間違いない！1つの事象を徹底的に追及することの面白さがにじみ出ている。これまでのさやばねの記事の中で一番面白い、というか最近の私が一番興味あることなので、私が一番読みたかった。
