真のClivina castanea Westwood, 1837はフィリピンのみに分布し、日本から”Clivina castanea Westwood, 1837”として記録されてきた種は、Clivina schillhammeri sp. nov.として本論文で記載されたものであろう。ということで、ツヤヒメヒョウタンゴミムシClivina schillhammeri Balkenohl, 2021となるべきと考える。
