Genbankに登録されている核（18S, 28S rRNA）とミトコンドリア（rrnL, cox1）のデータを用いた分子系統解析。あまり目新しさは感じない。ScirtidaeがPolyphagaの最基部で分岐したりCucujioideaが見事なまでに多系統だったりと支離滅裂具合。分子解析は門外漢だが、どうしてもこの研究グループの出す分子系統樹は胡散臭さを感じてしまう。なんでだろう？
亜目のトポロジーはCaterino et al. (2002)と同じ。
